Addie and Daddie go camping on Mt. Diablo - Day 1

Addie and I went camping on Mount Diablo this weekend--her first real camping trip. Overall I think she had fun, although she did ask numerous times for me to please just take her home! I know she missed her Mom. Here are some pics from day 1 of our adventure.

Addie and I arrived on Mt. Diablo around 2 pm and picked out a camp site in the Juniper Campground. after setting up camp, we headed out to the edge of the campground to fly our kite.

after dinner, we drove up to the top of the mountain to watch the sun set. the fog was also coming in, and we got to watch that blanked most of the bay area. we hiked around the top while we waited for the sun to set.

Addie poses by a survey monument on top of the mountain.

Addie in her first peaceful act of civil disobedience.

Mommy's under all that fog.

After the sunset, we drove back to our camp and had a campfire. We were visited numerous times by 2 racoons, which Addie got a kick out of once I had verified that they were not going to eat us. We put out our fire and snuggled in for the night on top of the mountain.

typical day

here's addie in her "don't you think i'm the bomb?" pose...she thought she'd be funny by stepping in my way of photographing inara!

finally.....a good pic of the two of them (where addie isn't trying to obstruct inara with herself)!

tonight, addie asked if she could sleep in her tent. so we set it up in her room and here she is, passed out in it sleeping after only 5 minutes!
