hummingbird guard 2

so here, he's sitting on the cherry plum tree. he can see all 4 feeders from this spot!

so this male haummingbird has been sitting around and guarding two of our feeders. if others fly by wanting some nectar, then he chases them away. it's totally weird. and he will just sit around and let me take pictures of him. he even sat there while i let the dogs out to pee. amazing little birds!

so here, the guy is in the rain on the maple tree near my front door.


below he's on the twigs of the wisteria under the eaves in the front courtyard.
