DAY 2: MAN vs. BABY

last night wasn't too bad, she woke me up once to eat, and then we snoozed until almost 10 am. i didn't realize terri had is so easy...this is the life!

addie's had a pretty good day today. band practice is tonight, and ally has offerred to watch her while the guys jam, hopefully she will behave herself (addie not ally).



see how sweetly addie is sleeping in the next pictures? that's because she just vomited cottage cheese all over herself and me. just look how satisfied with herself she is! don't worry--i'm not feeding my baby cottage cheese--it was breast milk when it went down.

DAY 1: MAN vs BABY - UPDATE

i'm not very good with the spit-up. terri can spot that stuff on addie at 20 feet. me...i obviously find it far after the deed has been done. it was in her hair and her ear, and on her clothes. it was also all over the front of my shirt and on my guitar strap.

DAY 1: MAN vs. BABY

addie and i dropped terri off at the BART station at 6 AM this morning--terri is out-of-town until friday night at a work-related conference. that means addie and i are roughing it together for the next couple days...what i like to call 4 days of man vs. baby.

so far...so good. a little crying today, but mostly she's been pretty good. we went for a walk with dude and bella, and then watched an original star trek (mudd's women) this afternoon. tonight we start the matrix trilogy.

another day, more smiles!

well, as you will be able to see - addie likes to nap on her tummy! she slept that way for more than 2 hours! i couldn't get much done though, as when she's on her tummy, i am there 100% of the time to monitor her.

then dude decided he wanted to sleep in the boppy, which had moved from the sofa to the activity gym so addie could sit up a bit more and play with her new keyboard thingy. dude is just too funny! he slept there for awhile that night.

and today, addie was having tummy time and decided to show us how far she can hold/push herself up. she holds her head up so well...something many of our friends with children comment on - stating that she does really well for being so young! i had her smiling at a ladybug toy (or maybe my voice..who knows?) while she pushed up and looked at it! more to come later!

doug's visit

doug was here this past labor day weekend. he and i spent a couple days in the mountains checking out the donner lake/lake tahoe area, and partaking in bachelor party past times.

addie is growing so fast!

can't believe it, but addie continues to grow daily! you can tell she is 'chunking' up - her cheeks, arms, and legs are getting thicker and the rolls in her thighs and arms are too cute! the pix aren't the greatest, but it was all i had to work with!

just another afternoon

liz gogolewski came by to see addie yesterday...her visit was short but nice nonetheless! today i captured addie in some huge smiles while focusing on a musical-lighting star toy. she loves to look at it and kick it and make it turn on the sound! also, you'll notice that as of this past weekend, addie has learned to suck/bite on her fingers and hand. she can actually get the whole fist in her mouth!

addie's first hike

we took addie and the dogs up in Las Trampas for a hike this afternoon. carrying a 9 pound baby on your chest while hiking up the hills was no problem...coming down, a different story. my calves are killing me! - JP

i snapped this pic yesterday morning of addie and terri sleeping. the other was just too sweet not to share!

she looks like her daddy!

well, i have been staring at this picture of JP for a few days and come to the conclusion that yes, she looks like her father! this is the only baby picture of JP i know of that exists in our household--and finally noticed a resemblence to one of us! i think she still has my eyes (they are still very blue in color) and of course, she inherited my father's vulcan-style ears. i think she's beautiful!!!!!

vulcan or elf?

JP here: i've tried to be silent, but i can hold it no longer. please, i'm asking all family members to dig back into their recessed memories, do you know if we have any vulcan or elf blood in our families? i present my concerns--addie's ears:

Dinner @ the Kirkman's

we all went to john and ally's tonight for dinner...had a great time!

Addie and Audrey

Mike, Kerri, & Audrey come to Cali for a visit!

as you can see, we were having a great time! we got some great photos of addie and audrey (15 mo. old) in their matching outfits that grandma jo bought them. audrey really enjoyed listening to uncle JP play the guitar--she danced for him and help him strum the strings! eventually she would point to the guitar in the corner and just start dancing! she was too cute! also, audrey really wanted to help feed cousin addie, and was a big help.

More Addie

aaahhhhh, more of addie for you! yesterday, addie had some good naps, in which i took a couple of pix. she sleeps well on her tummy as most of you know, and she loved sleeping in the 'boppy' on the sofa!

addie also had her first lengthy nap on her back (a full 2 hours!) and i had to take the picture since she looked so cute in the cool outfit uncle barry bought her! overall, having good days and nights with her and anxiously awaiting all of her "firsts", ie. sleeping thru the night and rolling over!

First Day Alone w/ Addie

well, now that my mom is gone and JP is back at work...i had my first day alone with addie here at the house! it has gone beautifully - she's keeping to her schedule mostly, and only crying or wimpering when she's wet/full of pooh or hungry. she's eating about every 3 hours and for the past few nights, she's slept the first shift of 4-5 hours straight, then on to a 3.5-4 hour shift thereafter! this isn't so bad, unless she jinx me and has a bad night tonight! ha ha!

we had an outing at 2pm today to meet with Chuck, a retired police officer, to pick up a few items for a Tip A Cop to benefit Special Olympics. anyway....enjoying every minute of addie!
